UNDAC

disaster assesment and coordination

Have you ever thought what would happen if no one came to help during a mass disaster? The United Nations Disaster Assessment and Coordination comes to the rescue in these disasters. It was created in 1993 and is part of the international emergency response system that deploys teams within 12 to 48 hours to sudden-onset emergencies in every part of the world. These courageous teams are among the heroes of the UN as they are deployed, free of charge, to disasters-affected countries in situations such as earthquakes. They risk their own lives to save ours.
